Adelaide Beer & BBQ Fest Supersized Edition!

The team from Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival (ABBF) are proud to announce their biggest lineup yet when they return for the 2017 edition. The biggest and most diverse lineup of brewers and cider makers ever assembled in SA, together with the self-proclaimed “World’s Most Famous Chef” and a main stage lineup headlined by Australian music royalty will roll into the Adelaide Showground on the back of the nation’s biggest beer industry conference and national awards preceding it.

Marc Huber said of curating the beer and cider offering that “over 60 beer and cider brands will headline the main beer hall. In addition, some new areas will include the ‘ABBF IPA Soundsystem’ which will showcase over 20 rotating taps of the rockstar beer style, Indian Pale Ale, some may have never been seen before on tap in SA, some maybe never in the country.”

ABBF BBQ Ambassador, Duncan Welgemoed (Africola) is very excited to welcome the incomparable Matty Matherson (Toronto, Canada) to Adelaide for the very first time. The only time he was in Australia (just last year) to film his hit VICELAND show Dead Set On Life, SA wasn’t on the itinerary. This time Adelaide will be his only stop as exclusive guest of ABBF. He will join a host of chef’s and restaurants showing their own take on BBQ at a festival for the first time including Fancy Hank’s (Melbourne), Chris Jarmer presents JK BBQ & Smoke, Low & Slow, Comida, Gilbert Street Wings and plenty more.

The third element of ABBF has certainly seen some expansion in 2017. Heating the main stage in the cold Adelaide winter will be none other than Regurgitator, Hockey Dad, Ali Barter and West Thebarton Brothel Party. 2017 sees the Gurge into its 24th year together and marking the 20th anniversary of their seminal release Unit which won the lads from Brisbane five (yes, five!) ARIA Awards including Album of the Year. Hockey Dad (NSW) are part of the new wave of Australian rock and roll bands bringing back the music that takes you to a simpler time. Ali Barter is an immense talent that has been riding a wave of critical and now commercial acclaim since the release of single “Girlie Bits” in 2016. They will share the stage with local heroes West Thebarton Brothel Party, Mane and Siamese with more to be announced including 25+ DJs and the winner of a Music SA Beer Band competition.

“We are damn proud to present such a diverse and quality line-up at ABBF this year. We feel that the Gurge really have paved the way for so many Australian artists across the breadth of the country and can’t wait ‘til they hit the stage alongside some of the country’s best new talent” said Aaron Sandow, event promoter.
